The Catholic University of Valencia “San Vicente Mártir” is a private university born thanks to the Archibishop of Valencia founded in 2003. This institution wants to be close to the students in the task of getting a rich and complete education. The students will be stimulated to get the knowledge and technical abilities they need as well as to improve their personal and professional skills.
The University has seven faculties and one university school, with 31 official degrees. The following list includes our faculties linked to the field of biotechnology:
-Faculty of Experimental Science: Degree in Biotechnology, Degree in Marine Science.
-Faculty of Medicine: Degree in Physiotherapy, Degree in Medicine, Degree in Odontology and Degree in Chiropody.
-Universitary school Virgen de los Desamparados: Degree in Nursing
There are also 21 official master programs, including doctoral studies. The Catholic University of Valencia is deeply involved with the European convergence, as it is demonstrated by 17 of its degrees having already been validated by the Spanish national agency for evaluation of university education (ANECA).
Research at the Catholic University of Valencia is promoted through its 13 university institutes. Each institute belongs to a faculty and develops specific research studies according to the characteristic area of each degree.
- Environmental biotechnology: Environmental bioindicators and biofuel of marine origin.
- Marine biotechnology: Natural products of marine origin, bioremediation and bioconcentration of heavy metals.
- Biomedicine: Cellular cultures, molecular and proteomic analysis and biotechnological applications for diagnosis and antitumoural therapies.
